The North Whidbey Aquatic swim club’s Meghan Scott and Rachel Weinstein each achieved a Western Region Age Group Sectional qualifying time in the Washington State Senior Time Trials on Saturday, Dec. 20, in Federal Way.

Scott qualified with a time of 4:53.33 in the women’s 400 individual medley, knocking four seconds off her previous best clocking.

Weinstein made her qualification cut in the women’s 200 breaststroke, shaving three seconds off her time to finish at 2:37.46. She was joined by teammates Price Hu and Tyler Schell in swimming 100 percent best times.

John Hu added team records in the men’s 200 butterfly in a time of 1:54.63 and 200 individual medley at 1:54.43.

NWAC next competes Jan. 17 and 18 at the Anacortes Challenge.
