Wildcat eliminated in district tournament | Tennis

The Oak Harbor High School entrants in the 3A District 1 Tennis Tournament were eliminated the first day of the competition, Tuesday, May 20, at Stanwood.

In singles play, Makenzie Perry dropped her opening match 6-2, 7-6(7-5) to eventual champion Daniella Brengelmann of Shorewood. She then lost to Shorewood's Marija Feller 6-4, 6-3.

Oak Harbor's doubles team of Faith Franssen and Caterina Amsler fell to Mountlake Terraces's Allison Lorraine and Tina Liu 6-1, 6-2 in round one.

Shorecrest's Lauren Rutter and Rachel Stevens beat the Wildcat pair 6-0, 6-1 in the consolation bracket.
