Wildcats win 3-team match | Girls golf

Paced by medalist Joanna Leete, the Oak Harbor High School girls golf team waded to a win in a three-team match at the waterlogged Camaloch Golf Course on Camano Island Thursday, May 8.

"The weather was wet, wet and extremely wet," said coach Andy Wesley. "The girls played amazing considering the elements."

Oak Harbor won the match with 253 strokes, eight better than Glacier Peak. Host Stanwood finished with 301.

Leete shot a three-over 39 in nine holes to lead the way.

Her teammates, Hailey Beecher (50) and Bree Roderos (52), posted the fourth- and fifth-best scores.

Resego Mooki shot a 54, Marissa Sligh a 58 and Tarra Baird a 61.

The Western Conference Championship Tournament comes to Oak Harbor and the Whidbey Golf Club at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.
