Mavericks defeat Wildcats | Soccer

The Wesco 3A South soccer teams completed a sweep of Oak Harbor when Meadowdale stopped the host Wildcats 3-1 Monday, May 5.

Gavin Stewart scored for Oak Harbor, but the Mavericks countered with two goals from Colton Davis and another from Taylor Linton to pick up the win.

Oak Harbor (4-8, 6-8-1) goes to North leader Marysville-Pilchuck (7-5, 7-8) for the final regular-season match at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7.

The Wildcats are the only North team to defeat the Tomahawks this season, winning 3-1 April 7.

Regardless of the outcome of Wednesday's match, Oak Harbor will finish third in the North and go to the South's No. 2 team for the first round of the district tournament at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

The top four teams in the South are all within one win of each other, so Oak Harbor's opponent is not yet known.
