Marysville Getchell bunched its runs to take two games from the Oak Harbor High School baseball team this week.

The Chargers (3-4, 5-4) scored three runs in the fourth inning and six in the sixth on the way to an 10-1 win over the visiting Wildcats Tuesday, April 8, then scored all of its runs in the fifth inning in a 3-0 win in Oak Harbor Wednesday.

In the first game, Oak Harbor tied the game at 1 with a run in the fourth when Kevin Johnson walked with the bases loaded. From there it was all Marysville Getchell.

The Wildcats, who had at least one base runner in every inning, had only four hits in the game and didn't take advantage of seven walks and a hit batter.

Brent Mertins, Danny Wolfe, Brandon Bailey and Nate Stanford recorded the base hits.

In the second game, Charger side-arm pitcher Rylan Faucett limited the Wildcats to only two hits (both by Bailey, one a double) and just four base runners.

Jozef Mendoza threw well for Oak Harbor (1-6, 1-9) but was touched for three runs in the fifth on four hits and a walk.

The teams conclude their series at 4 p.m. Friday, April 11, in Marysville.
