Wolves win in another 2-1 match | Soccer
Scores of 2-1 are becoming a habit for the Coupeville High School soccer team, and that's fine with coach Kyle Nelson as long as the "2" is on the Wolves' side of the scoreboard.
It was Friday, April 4, when Coupeville edged Sultan (1-3, 1-4-1) at Mickey Clark Field.
The Wolves' last four matches (out of five played this year) have ended in a 2-1 score, with Coupeville picking up two of the wins.
Coupeville created a fistful of scoring opportunities but was often turned back by the stingy Sultan keeper, according to Nelson, but Sean Donley, with an assist from Zane Bundy, broke through with the winner a minute into extra time.
Abraham Leyva Elenes scored the other Coupeville goal.
"It was a good result for us," Nelson said. "We look forward to testing ourselves against league leaders Archbishop (Murphy)."
Coupeville (2-2, 3-2) goes to Everett to meet Archbishop Murphy (4-0, 5-0-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 8.
