Inconsistent play hurts Wildcats in loss to Everett | Volleyball

Everett took advantage of an inconsistent performance by the host Oak Harbor High School volleyball team to win 3-0 Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The Seagulls rolled 25-20, 25-15, 25-13.

Wildcat coach Kerri Molitor said, "We had a lot of serving errors and hitting errors in the first game and it just got worse."

Looking for something positive about the match, Molitor said, "The first couple of games our passing was OK."

Kayleigh Harper finished with eight kills and three blocks, while Claire Anderson collected seven kills and seven digs.

Hailey Beecher dished out 15 assists and three aces, and Makenna Martyn had three blocks.

Oak Harbor (2-5, 2-10), clinging to its playoff hopes, plays two more matches, both against teams below it in the standings. First it entertains Marysville Getchell (0-6, 0-11) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, then it goes to Marysville-Pilchuck (1-6, 2-10) Wednesday, Oct. 30.
