Wildcat United places 15 among leaders | Middle school cross country

Fifteen Wildcat United runners placed in the top 10 of their divisions in a middle school cross country meet at Windjammer Park Monday, Oct. 14.

Six teams competed in the meet, but Wildcat United (runners from both Oak Harbor middle schools) was the only one with enough runners in each race to receive a team score.

The Wildcat United eighth-grade girls put in the best showing with six runners in the top 10, led by Olivia Flack and Jillian Pape in second and third in the same time (11:04) over the 1.6-mile course. They were edged by one second by Burlington-Edison's Sara Absten. Wildcat United's Megan Keating placed fourth, only two seconds behind Absten.
