Wildcats rule at Marysville | Swim
The Oak Harbor High School swim team took down both Marysville schools Thursday, Sept. 19, at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
The Wildcats swamped Marysville Getchell 122-38 and edged M-P 94-86.
Against the Tomahawks, Oak Harbor trailed much of the meet before finishing 1-2 in the 200 freestyle relay, the ninth of 12 events, to go up 69-65.
Marissa Morris (200 free, 2:02.28; 500 free, 5:24.45) and Mollie Briddell (100 free, 59.34; 100 backstroke, 1:08.67) posted the day's best times in two events.
Irysh Concepcion led the field in the 50 free (27.34).
Concepcion also teamed with Mariel Empinado, Tricia Desquitado and Kennedy Trisler for the important 200 free relay win (1:56.45).
Earning the second-best times were Erica Sugatan (200 individual medley, 2:30.44), Sarah Baxter (100 breaststroke, 1:24.16), the 200 medley relay (Briddell, Baxter, Desquitado, Concepcion, 2:08.2), the 200 free relay (Nicole Vogt, Elise Still, Sophia Dickinson, Baxter, 2:03.04) and the 400 free relay (Briddell, Sugatan, Vogt, Morris, 4:02.82).
Oak Harbor (2-1) meets Stanwood (2-1) in the home opener at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.
