Oak Harbor swimmers rout Mount Vernon

In a dominate display, the Oak Harbor boys swim team defeated Mount Vernon 119-56 Thursday afternoon.

The Wildcats took first place finishes in 11 of 12 events, improving their record to 10-1 in the process.

Eight different individuals placed first in eight events. Cameron Spence (200-meter freestyle), Josh Luttrell (200 IM), Brian Hall (100 butterfly), Matt Bender (100 freestyle), Jason Hunter (500 freestyle), Kyle Ciminski (100 backstroke), Evan Wilson (100 breaststroke) and Frankie Lovell (diving) all finished atop their events.

The three Oak Harbor relay teams also blew their competition out of the water, winning by eight, 11 and 26 seconds respectively.

The Wildcats don’t swim again until Jan. 15 when they host Stanwood at the John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool. The meet begins at 5 p.m.
