Coupeville netters take down 2A Cougars

After suffering a 7-0 defeat to 2A South Whidbey, the Coupeville tennis team bounced back strong against 2A Lakewood, winning 4-3 Wednesday afternoon.

Number two player Taniel Lamb picked up a key win for the Wolves, battling two and a half hours for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory.

Other Wolves picking up wins were number one player Mindy Horr, who defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets.

After a shaky start the number one doubles team of Bethany Horr and Jessica Boling won 6-4, 6-0 over their opponents, while the number two team of Breanne Houlroyd and Meghan Tucker gathered a 6-3, 6-1 win.

Up next for the Wolves is a match at 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 5 at Darrington.
