"Bowling league for disabledHandy Dandy bowling league for anyone with a disability is starting a Winter and Spring season Jan. 8. Bowling takes place every Monday from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and will run through May at the Oak Bowl in Oak Harbor. Fees to participate are $5 every Monday and it includes two games, shoes and a pizza party at the end of the season. Men's & Women's Adult Basketball League The Anacortes Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registration forms for Men's and Women's Adult 4-on-4 Basketball League. Registration forms are due no later than, Dec. 29, by 5 p.m. League games will start start Jan. 14 and run until March 18. Cost is $100 for returning teams (no uniform fee) and $175 for new teams (includes 6 uniforms). Games will be played on Sundays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Anacortes High School and are self officiated. Divisions of play available include a men's 30 and over, men's open, and women's open. The A.P.R.D. asks that teams be formed before registration. Individuals who would like to play or have any questions about the league can call Anacortes Parks and Recreation at (360) 299-1948 or email jenb@cityofanacortes.org and they will assist participants in finding a team. The A.P.R.D. also asks that participants call to have a registration form sent to them. Coupeville Alumni Basketball GamesAll alumni who can bounce a basketball and run up and down the court are invited Dec. 30 to come back to Coupeville's gymnasium for a night to play basketball. Games will start at 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for alumni and spectators, $3 for students over 12-years old. Kids under 12 are free. Proceeds will be put forth towards the purchase of a new readerboard at the high school. The event is being sponsored by the Community Foundation for Coupeville Schools. Jan. 13 Coupeville gymnasium will be home to a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for kids in grades 6-9. Teams are only allowed four players and must pay $5 to play or donate five cans of food. The tournament will start at 7 p.m. and run until 10:30 p.m. Players and teams must pre-register by calling Eric at (360) 240-1322. Snowbuster ski bus to Stevens' PassSandi's Snowbuster ski bus to Stevens Pass begins Jan. 9 and each Tuesday after that for eight weeks. The 8-week package is priced at $140 but is a non-profit program.
