"Adult basketball league to formThe Anacortes Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting registration forms for men's and women's adult 4-on-4 basketball leagues. Registration forms are due Friday, Dec. 29 by 5 p.m. League games will start start Jan. 14 and run until March 18. Cost is $100 for returning teams and $175 for new teams. Games will be played on Sundays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Anacortes High School. Divisions of play available include a men's 30 and over, men's open, and women's open. North Whidbey hoop sign ups heldA youth basketball clinic and registration for the upcoming 2000-2001 youth league will be held Dec. 2 for boys and girls grades 3-6. Sign up to play flag football Flag Football Magazine will host a Regional Flag Football Tournament Dec. 2-3. The tournament, which will be held in Seattle, will consist of three different styles: 9-Man-Contact- A-Division, 8-Man-Contact-B/C Division and 4-Man-No Contact-A/B & C Division.Winners will advance to the USFTL Nationals Jan. 13-14 in Orlando, Fla. The Tournament MVP will play for Team USA at the World Cup of Flag Football Jan. 19-21 in Cocoa Beach, Fla. 10 other countries will compete for the World Cup. The United Soccer Academy program to Europe, from July 11-31, 2001, will consist of a five day training camp in Denmark, followed participation in the world's largest youth soccer tournament, the Gothia Cup held in Sweden, as well as participation in the Manchester Soccer Festival held in England. For males and females between the ages of 10 and 19 interested in international soccer travel and competition the clinics ryouts will be held at Arena Sports in Langley, B.C., on Dec. 1 from 6-8 p.m.; the Sportsplex in Bellingham on Dec. 2 from 2-4 p.m.; Lake Washington High School in Kirkland on Dec. 3, from 2-4 p.m.; and Arena Sports in Redmond on Dec. 4, from 6-8 p.m. Players are asked to bring their own ball, water and a $15 registration fee. Boys masters basketball scheduledThe Skagit County Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting registrations for the Boys Masters Basketball League for high school boys that are not on a high school basketball team. Games will be played Sunday afternoons at Skagit Valley College starting Dec. 10. Separate divisions of play are offered for 9-10th graders and 11-12th graders. The team entry fee is $350 and is due by Dec. 1. Each team is required to have an adult coach, 21 years or older for each game.
