"The Wildcats took care of business Thursday, and the table is set for a league title showdown. The Oak Harbor wrestling team grabbed a commanding early lead and cruised to a 51-25 win over Sehome.I’m real proud of our kids, Oak Harbor coach Brian Farmer said. Sehome’s down a bit this year but they have some great wrestlers. The Wildcats have been doing some great wrestling of their own this season, as they did Thursday. Kevin Lang set the tone with a 19-second pin at 103 pounds of Sehome’s Tyler Hass.Jon Garcia won a major decision, and Nate Lemme, Danny Wichers, Will Carroll, Brent Thompson and Brian Lang pinned five of the next seven Sehome opponents to give the Wildcats a wide lead.Brent Lang joined the pin parade, too, dispatching the Mariners’ Cale Neece in the second round of the 171 pound match. The dual meet win gives Oak Harbor a perfect 9-0 record in 4A Western Conference competition this season. That’s a mark matched only by Cascade. The Bruins defeated Snohomish Thursday to set up a showdown with the Wildcats next week.Cascade is tough and they are so well coached, Farmer said.OAK HARBOR 51, SEHOME 25 103: K.
