"Two games, tough defense, two wins.Thats what the Coupeville boys basketball team accomplished Friday and Saturday with wins over league foe Orcas and non-league opponent Mount Vernon Christian.The Wolves got off to a slow start on their home court against Orcas, but poured in 26 points in the second quarter and cruised to a 69-34 win.Coupeville kept that momentum rolling at Mount Vernon Christian, jumping out to a 32-17 lead early on the way to a 60-34 win.Coupeville coach Randy King said defense set the tone, especially against Mount Vernon Christian. The thing that was fun is that we played aggressive on defense, he said. We just stopped them.Ceasar Kortuem was the top scorer for the Wolves against Mount Vernon, with 14 points.
