Prep roundup: Wrestlers win at Everett Classic

"In a season of big accomplishments, the Oak Harbor wrestling team ran away with the Everett Classic Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.Jon Garcia (112), Danny Wichers (125), Brian Lang (145) and Brent Lang (171) all grabbed first place finishes in the seven-team tournament.The kids wrestled just great, Oak Harbor coach Brian Farmer said.Garcia won an 11-3 major decision over Everitts John Irwin in the title round. Wichers won an 8-4 decision over Kentwoods Brian Melvin. Brian Lang pinned Keith Symons of Everett halfway through the third period. And Brent Lang (171) won a 12-10 major decision over Burlington-Edisons Dean Jones. Oak Harbor took its 6-0 record in conference dual meets this season into the showdown with Marysville-Pilchuck on Tuesday night.
