"The suspense was over in 16 seconds.When the Oak Harbor wrestling team traveled to Snohomish on Wednesday, the dual meet pitted two unbeaten squads and two longtime rivals.As the Wildcats forged a hard-fought 32-24 lead with two matches left, Oak Harbor needed at least one more win to seal the team victory.Oak Harbor’s Brandon Bonson quickly took care of business, pinning Brian Charboneau in just 16 seconds as Wildcats wrestlers and fans jumped for joy.The 38-30 triumph improved Oak Harbor to 4-0 in the 4A Western Conference. Snohomish fell to 2-1 (the Panthers picked up a win over Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday to go 3-1).The Wildcat win was secured in the middle weights, as Oak Harbor wreslters pinned Snohomish foes in four of six matches, starting with Brian Lang in the 145-pound class.Danny Wichers held off Rich Wellers for a 9-5 decision in the 125-pound match to give Oak Harbor a 9-6 lead early on, but Snohomish built an 18-9 lead on two straight pins.Oak Harbor's Brent Thompson (140), Brian Lang (145), Mike Dolson (152) and David Farmer (160) won their matches to give Oak Harbor a 28-18 lead.
