Wildcats capture 3-team match | Boys golf

The Oak Harbor boys golf team took it to the "woods" in a three-team, 12-hole match at the Whidbey Golf Club Friday, April 26.

The Wildcats finished with 290 strokes, followed by Lynnwood with 310 and Lakewood with 373.

Hunter Adams led the Wildcats and the field with a one-over 49.

Oak Harbor coach David Smith said it was a shame the match was called before 18 holes were completed because Adams was en route to his best round ever at four over with three holes left.

Jerin Applegarth carded a 58 for the 'Cats, one stroke better than Caleb Knaack and Steven Timm. Raiden Poe shot 65 and Ben Fikse 75.

Oak Harbor's final Wesco match is 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Marysville's Cedarcrest Golf Course.

The League tournament is Wednesday, May 8, at Everett's Legion Golf Course.
