Oak Harbor struggles at par-3 tournament | Boys golf

Monday, March 25, was a beautiful day on Marysville’s par-3 Battle Creek Golf Course, but the play of Oak Harbor’s boys team in the six-team tournament wasn’t pretty.

The Wildcats finished fifth with 348 strokes, 27 behind the fourth-place team. Lake Stevens captured the event with a 302.

Jerin Applegarth shot a 63 on the 54-par layout to top Oak Harbor. Caleb Knaack carded a 68, Raiden Poe 71, Steven Timm 72, Quinnton Wallace 74 and Hunter Adams 77.

Oak Harbor returns to league action at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, when the five Wesco 3A North schools meet at Whidbey Golf and Country Club.
