Tungate earns 9 top-10 finishes | NWAC

The North Whidbey Aquatic Club's Olivia Tungate, competing for the Pacific Northwest Swimming all-star team, had nine top-10 finishes in the Pacific Coast All-Star Meet Jan. 5 and 6 at Santa Rosa, Calif.

PNS placed third in the team scoring out of all-star squads from the Southern California region, the Pacific region and Oregon.

Tungate, swimming in the 11/12 division, finished fifth in two individual events (500-yard free, 5:27.39; 100 individual medley, 1:04.99). She placed eighth in the 100 butterfly (1:04.76), 10th in the 100 backstroke (1:04.76) and 200 IM (2:22.77) and 12th in the 200 free (2:07.09).

She also placed in four relay events, led by a second for the PNS "A" team in the 400 medley (4:10.2).

Swimming on the PNS "B" team, she earned a fifth (200 free, 1:46.71), seventh (400 free, 4:10.09) and eighth (200 medley, 2:02.85).
