Babe Ruth 14s win tourney

Oak Harbors 14-year-old Babe Ruth baseball team won the Lynden Making Memories Memorial Day tournament by defeating Lake Stevens, 8-2, in the final. Oak Harbors pitching dominated in the championship game as Kevin Eaton and Josh Higbee combined for six shutout innings.
The offense was led by Austin Humphries who went 3-for-3 with a single, double and a grand slam.
The team went 5-1 over the weekend, with the only loss coming to Marysville in 10 innings. Eaton, Jake Hill, Josh Higbee, Ben Ducken provided the pitching and were the keys to winning the tournament. Oak Harbor outscored the opponents 30-11 for the tournament, getting big hits from Pat Higbee, Austin Humphries, Kevin Eaton and Yale Rosen.
