Marysville Getchell skipped by the visiting Oak Harbor High School soccer team 4-0 Thursday, Oct. 18.

Fifteen minutes into the match, starting Wildcat keeper Makenzie Perry was forced to leave and midfielder Ayla Muller was rushed into goal without a chance to warm up "in a pouring-down rain storm," according to coach Jeff Laiblin.

"She played great in goal," Laiblin said, "but faced a series of bad skip shots off the wet turf."

Laiblin said, "I really believed we played a really good game tonight…The score doesn't tell the true performance by our team."

Laiblin said the Wildcats received a "nearly perfect performance by our defenders Courtney (Godwin-Harrison), Mac (Schneider), Chelsea (Atkinson), Jacalyn (Hefflefinger), Anne (Te Paske) and Selina (Medina)."

He added, "Rebecca (Pabona) and Haley (Lundstrom) turned in their best performance of the year at center mid. We were just unlucky with some bad skips on the wet turf."

Oak Harbor (0-11, 1-12-1) travels to Everett at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, to face the league-leading Seagulls (9-1-1, 11-2-1).
