With an assist from Mother Nature, Marysville-Pilchuck defeated the Oak Harbor High School soccer team 4-0 Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.

Aided by a strong wind at its back, Marysville-Pilchuck (4-5-1, 5-7-1) took advantage of several Wildcat defensive mistakes to race to a 3-0 halftime lead.

Oak Harbor coach Jeff Laiblin said halftime adjustments led to "a much better performance" the final 40 minutes.

He added, "In typical Whidbey Island fashion, the wind was not as strong when it would have gone in our favor."

Makenzie Perry "was great in goal again," according to Laiblin.

Oak Harbor (0-10, 1-11-1) heads to Marysville Getchell (3-5-2, 4-5-4) for a 6 p.m. match Thursday, Oct. 18.
