Oak Harbor dominates again | Swimming

Finishing 1-2 in 10 of 11 events, the Oak Harbor High School swim team trounced Everett 134-36 at the Forest Park Pool Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The Wildcats (9-1) placed first in every event and took the top three spots in six. The Seagulls' (1-11) best effort was second place in the 200 free relay.

Eight different Wildcats won individual events: Hannah Schroeder, 200 free, 2:22.75; Tricia Desquitado, 200 individual medley, 2:38.81; Marissa Morris, 100 fly, 1:14.71; Lauren Vagt, 100 free, 1:03.32; Emily Huffer, 500 free, 5:25.31 (state qualifying time); Therese Desquitado, 100 backstroke, 1:07.77; Akasha Trisler, 100 breaststroke, 1:18.02; and Irysh Concepcion, 50 free, 29.5.

The Desquitados, Emily Schroeder and Mollie Briddell won the 200 medley relay (2:16.25); Concepcion, Kennedy Trisler, Sophie Dickinson and Nicole Vogt took the 200 free relay (2:10.79); and Morris, Concepcion, Briddell and Akasha Trisler captured the 400 free relay (4:23.97).

Oak Harbor and Monroe (2-5) go to Mount Vernon (4-2) at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
