Overlake edged the Coupeville tennis team in singles play and dominated doubles for a 5-0 win in Redmond Saturday, Sept. 29.
Coupeville coach Ken Stange said the Owls won easily in all the matches except first singles where Coupeville's Nathan Lamb lost to Grant Gibson 8-6 in "hotly contested match." Gibson is one of the top players in his league, according to CHS coach Ken Stange.
Aaron Curtin fell in second singles 8-6.
The Wolves struggled in all three doubles matches: 1, Jason Knoll/Ben Wehrman lost 1-8; 2, Brandon Kelley/Brian Norris lost 1-8; 3, Ben Etzell/Sebastian Davis lost 3-8.
Lamb and Curtin combined to win an exhibition doubles match 8-2. In another exhibition doubles match Etzell and Norris lost 3-8.
The Wolves (3-4) close out the regular season at home at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, with Friday Harbor.
