Falcons trip up Coupeville again | Tennis

The Coupeville High School tennis team has beaten everyone it has played this season not named South Whidbey.

For the third time in four matches against the Falcons this fall, the Wolves lost, this time 3-2 in Langley Wednesday, Sept. 26.

Coupeville collected wins in both singles matches but was unable to break through in doubles.

Nathan Lamb took first singles 6-2, 6-3; while Aaron Curtin came back to eke out a win in second singles 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(7-5).

The swing match was second doubles where Ben Etzell and Sebastian Davis were edged 6-7(3-7), 4-6.

In first doubles, Jason Knoll and Brandon Kelley lost 0-6, 2-6; and in third doubles Shane Squire and Dawson d'Almeida fell 1-6, 2-6.

The Wolves (3-3) go to Overlake at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
