Vikings dominate doubles in win over Wildcats | Tennis

Oak Harbor held its own in the singles matches but was swept in the doubles as host Lake Stevens won the season opener 5-2 Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Senior David Kusnick came from behind to win second singles 4-6, 7-5, 6-1; and sophomore Carter Saar won 6-4, 6-3 in third singles.

Senior Will Southard was edged 3-6, 5-7 in first singles, and junior Harrison Miller lost 3-6 twice in fourth singles.

The Vikings swept doubles play in straight sets: 1, Jose Dimaculangan/Ziwei Peng lost 1-6, 0-6; 2, Casiano Atienza/Antonio Unpingco lost 3-6, 2-6; 3, Tom Dale/Jozef Mendoza lost 0-6, 1-6.

Oak Harbor hosts Mountlake Terrace (2-0) at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7.
