A rugged start never smoothed out for the North Whidbey 10/11 all star team as it lost to host Sedro-Woolley 10-0 in five innings in the District 11 tournament Monday, July 2.
The loss dropped North Whidbey into the losers' bracket where it will face the winner of Burlington and Central Whidbey at 6 p.m. Thursday in Sedro-Woolley. A win will earn a rematch with Sedro-Woolley Friday.
Coach Dave Delano said, "The game didn't go the way we would've liked…We hit the ball well but unfortunately it was at people. We had a rough start in the field that I think set the tone for the game."
North Whidbey gave up four runs, three unearned, in the first inning, then Sedro-Woolley struck for three more in the second.
