Little League tournaments begin this week

It's tournament time for North and Central Whidbey Little Leagues.

The six tournaments are led to the starting gate by 11-12 softball which begins 6 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Oak Harbor's Volunteer Park when a combined South and Central Whidbey team tangles with South Skagit. North Whidbey faces the winner Tuesday at 6 p.m.

North Whidbey also hosts three other tournaments.

Anacortes and Burlington-Edison begin 9-10 softball at Volunteer Park at noon Saturday, June 30. The winner takes on a combined North and Central Whidbey team at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 1.

In Junior Baseball (13-14) at Fort Nugent Park, North Whidbey and South Skagit begin a best-of-three series at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 1.

Windjammer Park is home of the 11-12 district baseball tournament which opens with Sedro-Woolley and Burlington-Edison at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 7. North Whidbey debuts against the winner of South Skagit and Anacortes Sunday, July 8, at 3:30 p.m.

In 9-10 baseball at South Whidbey, North Whidbey opens with Anacortes at noon Saturday, June 30. Central Whidbey plays at the same time against South Whidbey.

In 10-11 baseball, North Whidbey and Central Whidbey square off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Sedro-Woolley's Kiwanis Fields.
