Megan Hall, a 2007 Oak Harbor graduate, placed second in the women's division of the Badger Mountain Challenge, a 100-mile ultra marathon, in the Tri-Cities March 30 and 31.

Hall finished fifth overall in under 24 hours out of the 33 who finished the race; 58 started.

The course ran from Kennewick to Prosser and back and included 19,000 feet of elevation gain over jeep track, bushwhack areas and short road sections. During the race, runners encountered heavy rains and sustained winds of 25 miles per hour.

Hall competed in cross country and track for OHHS, Everett Community College and Northwest Christian University. She has recently been hired as the new Whidbey Island Running Club coach.
