First-place Granite Falls outscored the visiting Coupeville fastpitch team 23-0 to sweep a double header Saturday, May 5.

Not only did the Tigers (13-1) defeat the Wolves 10-0 and 13-0, they out-hit Coupeville 29-3 behind the strength of a no-hitter by freshman Lauren Harding in the second game.

Madi Roberts, McKayla Bailey and Hailey Hammer all had hits for Coupeville in the first game, but that was it for the Wolves' offense.

A diving catch by the Granite Falls center fielder on a Bailey line drive preserved the second-game no hitter.

Co-coach David King said, "It was a tough day overall with getting on the road at 6 a.m., then the travel. Plus Granite Falls is a very good all-around team. We played hard, just couldn’t generate any offense. As a team, not one player used the getting up early or travel as an excuse."

The Wolves (5-10, 6-11) wrap up the regular season at Sultan at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, and then host a loser-out district game at 4 .m. Thursday.
