Wildcats finish 3rd at 10-team Stanwood meet | Track

Two wins by Josh Schrum led the Oak Harbor boys track team to a third-place finish at the 10-team Stanwood Twilight Invitational Friday, May 4, while the Wildcat girls used their depth to also place third.
Arlington won both meets which included six 4A schools. The 4A Eagle boys rolled up 145 points, edging 4A Lake Stevens with 138. 3A Oak Harbor rounded out the top three with 103.
In the girls meet, Arlington dominated by out-pointing 4A Stanwood and Oak Harbor 172.5-112.5-95.5.
Schrum won the 800 (2:01.72) and led a 1-2 Wildcat finish with Matt Reith (4:32.24) in the 1,600 (4:33.6). Reith was also second in the 3,200 (9:55.14).
Josiah Miller won the 100 (11.07) and took second in the 4x100 relay (44.62) with Cody Hernkind, Carlton Johnson and Sheyenne Sams.
Chris Hailer captured the high jump (6).
The Oak Harbor girls didn't win an event but earned seconds from Alex Laiblin (3,200, 12:02.34), Raeanna Wynne (300 hurdles, 49.66) and Jessica Hollins (100, 13.06).
The meet wrapped up the regular season for the Wildcats. Oak Harbor participates in the Western Conference 3A championships Wednesday, May 9 (3:30 p.m.), and Friday, May 11 (5 p.m.), at Shoreline Stadium.
