Chargers run by Wildcats | Soccer

Marysville Getchell defeated the visiting Oak Harbor soccer team 4-1 Friday, April 20, and the win helped the Chargers close in on second place in the Wesco standings.

Oak Harbor coach Brian Thompson called it a "tough week" for the Wildcats, playing three matches in five days, including two on the road.

Alex Krantz was hurt in the match and joined starter Caley Powers on the sidelines. Thompson said, "Danny Ross, Mauricio Martinez and Ryan Gilman did a nice job replacing our injured and tired players."

Vance Freitas tallied Oak Harbor's goal with an assist from Matt Jensen.

Oak Harbor (1-10-1) plays Lynnwood (7-4-2) at Wildcat Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, then goes to Meadowdale (3-7-2) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26.
