After opening the season with six road matches, the Oak Harbor boys golf team finally hosted a match at Whidbey Golf and Country Club Thursday, April 19, and was narrowly defeated by Marysville Getchell in a three-team contest.

The Chargers slipped by Oak Harbor 233-238, and Mountlake Terrace shot 267 on a windy, rainy day.

The Wildcats' Caleb Knaack shot a four-over 40 in the nine-hole match to grab medalist honors.  Elias Whitefoot and Steven Timm each carded a 49, while Quinnton Wallace, Hunter Adams and Jake Nelson each shot 50.

Oak Harbor now has a string of three more home matches, beginning with Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes and Lakewood at 3 p.m. Monday, April 23.
