Wildcats nipped again | Tennis

The tough luck continued for the Oak Harbor tennis team as it dropped its third straight close match, this time 4-3 at home to Meadowdale Wednesday, April 18.

The difference came in the top two doubles matches where the Mavericks eked out close wins in three sets.

Two of Oak Harbor's points came from third and fourth singles where Jennifer Fremd (6-3, 6-0) and Chelsey McKenzie (6-0, 5-7, 6-0) won.

Jenny Landingin and Stephanie Milliron won in straight sets (6-3, 7-5) in third doubles.

The Wildcats (2-9) host Marysville Getchell (0-8) at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 23.

Other results:

Singles: 1, Alexa Holmly lost 4-6, 3-6; 2, Shannon Neilon lost 3-6, 5-7.

Doubles: 1, Molly Van Dam/McKenzie Schneider lost 4-6, 6-3, 3-6; 2, Rachelle Muzones/Joyce Abides lost 6-4, 4-6, 3-6.
