Lynnwood sweeps singles on way to win | Tennis

A strong showing in singles helped Lynnwood defeat the visiting Oak Harbor High School tennis team 5-2 Monday, April 16.
The Wildcats snared their two wins in the top two doubles matches. In No.1 doubles, Molly Van Dam and McKenzie Schneider won 6-4, 2-6, 6-4; and in No. 2 doubles Rachelle Muzones and Joyce Abides came back to win 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Molly Murdock and Tiffany Kepner won an exhibition doubles match 8-4.
Oak Harbor (2-8) had edged Lynnwood (3-7) 4-3 earlier this season.
Other results:
Singles: 1, Alexa Holmly lost 2-6, 0-6; 2, Shannon Neilon lost 4-6, 2-6; 3, Jennifer Fremd lost 6-4, 3-6, 2-6; 4, Chelsey McKenzie lost 2-6; 4-6.
Doubles: 3, Jenny Landingin/Stephanie Milliron lost 1-6, 1-6.
The Wildcats host Meadowdale (2-6) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. In the first meeting this year, the Mavericks nipped Oak Harbor 4-3.
