Cedarcrest punched in two first-half goals to defeat the Coupeville soccer team 2-0 Friday, April 13, at Mickey Clark Field.

After yielding the first-half goals, the Wolves' defense stiffed in the second half, according to assistant coach Gary Manker. He said the goals "put our backs against the wall," but "the team was able to right the ship with hard-nosed defense" after they break.

Manker said Coupeville had one excellent scoring opportunity in the first half and several in the second but Cedarcrest (7-2, 8-3) goalie Thomas O'Dell turned them away.

The Wolves (3-5, 4-5) go to King's (6-2, 6-4) Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. and then host South Whidbey (4-3, 5-3) Friday at 6 p.m.
