Hawks edge Wildcats | Boys golf

Mountlake Terrace used its depth to edge the Oak Harbor golf team in a three-team match at the Ballinger Golf Course Thursday, April 12.

The Hawks finished with 212 strokes, six better than Oak Harbor. Lynnwood trailed with 239.

Lynnwood's Rudy Caparas was medalist with an even-par 34 on the nine-hole course. Oak Harbor's Elias Whitefoot shot a 38, then three Terrace golfers rounded out the top five.

Quinnton Wallace carded a 42 for Oak Harbor, followed by Caleb Knaack (44), Steve Timm (46), Hunter Adams (48) and Jake Nelson (52).

Coach Jeff Pryor said, "We improved a bunch with the regular crew."

The Wildcats take on South Whidbey at the Useless Bay Country Club at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17.
