First-place Archbishop Murphy broke Coupeville's three-match win streak by defeating the Wolves 4-0 Wednesday at Mickey Clark Field.

The Wildcats' Aidan Huggins, who recorded a hat trick, had "an excellent game, finishing his opportunities," said Coupeville coach Paul Mendes.

Mendes added, "We made some progress compared to the first time we played them earlier in the season (a 5-0 loss). They are a strong, well-rounded team -- fast, fit and technically very sharp. We fell behind early, and that didn't help things. Our defense was busy much of the night containing their attack."

Archbishop Murphy (8-0, 9-0) entered the match averaging six goals per game.

Coupeville (3-4, 4-4) plays Cedarcrest (6-2, 7-3) at home at 6 p.m. Friday, April 13, and then goes to King's (6-2, 6-4) at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 17.
