Snohomish captured the 12-team Whidbey Shootout at the Whidbey Golf and Country Club Tuesday, March 20, in the season-opening match for the Oak Harbor High School girls golf team.

Four of the teams, including Oak Harbor, did not field complete squads, therefore were not eligible for the Shootout team title.

Oak Harbor coach Andy Wesley said he entered only four golfers because that were "all that were ready to play 18 holes."

Snohomish won with a score of 501; Kamiak was second with 522.

Shorewood's Cassie McKinley took medalist honors with a four-over 77.

Oak Harbor's top golfer was Annie Leete with a 98, good for fourth overall. She was followed by Bre Roderos (130), K.C. Winfield (137) and Hannah VonGrey (152).

The Wildcats go head-to-head with Snohomish at the Snohomish Golf Course at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22.
