Oak Harbor drops delayed opener | Tennis

After being rained out Tuesday, the Oak Harbor High School tennis team opened it season at home Wednesday, March 14, but the results weren't worth the day's wait as the Wildcats fell to Mountlake Terrace 6-1 on a windy day in the low 40s.
Jennifer Fremd picked up Oak Harbor's lone win with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in third singles.
The Wildcats travel to Everett at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15.
Other Oak Harbor results:
Singles: 1, Alexa Holmly lost 1-6, 2-6; 2, Shannon Neilon lost 1-6, 1-6; 4, Chelsey McKenzie lost 3-6, 2-6.
Doubles: 1, Molly Van Dam/Joyce Abides lost 3-6, 1-6; 2; Rachelle Muzones/Joyce Abides lost 5-7, 0-3 (ret.); 3, Jenny Landingin/Stephanie Milliron lost 4-6, 2-6.
