3 Flyers win events at Action Athletics Invitational

Hailee Blau won three events and Lauren Bayne and Natalie Hahn one each for the Island Flyers trampoline and tumbling team at the Action Athletics Invitational in Bellevue last weekend.

Blau captured all three of her events in the 13-14 age group, Bayne was the 11-12 age-group Level 5 tumbling champion while also posting her season-best score and Hahn was the 11-12 winner in Level 4 tumbling.

Other top finishes included second places by McKenzie Meyer in 11-12 Level 6 trampoline and double mini and Kelly Gruenwald in 11-12 Level 5 double mini, and thirds by Amaya Rittierodt in 11-12 Level 7 trampoline and Level 6 tumbling.

Flyer Athlete of the Meet honors went to Hahn for doing her two-back handspring tumbling pass by herself for the first time in competition and improving her season-high score on that event by almost five points.

The team’s next competition will be in Maple Valley on March 24.
