Oak Harbor Gold wins title | Youth basketball

The Oak Harbor Gold eighth-grade AAU team won the SWISH basketball title at LaConner Saturday, March 3.
After a slow start, Oak Harbor defeated the Sehome Mariners 44-31 in the semifinals, and then put up nearly the same score in a 48-31 win over Blaine in the finals.
Against the Mariners, Oak Harbor trailed 23-19 at halftime, then outscored Sehome 13-5 in the third quarter to take control.
Dyllan Harris popped in 10 points in the big quarter and finished with 23 points to lead Oak Harbor to the win.
Elijah Smith added 11 points, Donovan Sellgren five, Dalton Martin four and Wiley Hesselgrave one.
In the finals, Oak Harbor jumped on Blaine early, spurting to a 16-5 first-quarter lead.
Harris, who hit four three pointers, paced Oak Harbor again, sinking 19 points over the first three quarters.
Sellgren scored 11, Smith 10, Tanner Walker four, Fred Miller two and Martin two.
