Washington nominated for national all-star game

Oak Harbor High School senior Mike Washington Jr. has been nominated for the McDonald's all-American high school all-star basketball game.

Washington Jr. is one of 30 Washington state players nominated for the national showcase which will be played in Chicago March 28.

The final rosters will be announced Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. on ESPNU.

Washington Jr. broke the Oak Harbor career scoring record this year and has signed to play for Princeton next winter.

Two other Wesco 3A players, Shorecrest's Emmanuel Chibuogwu and Mountlake Terrace's Ryan Shannon, have also been nominated.
