Wildcats secure Wesco North title | Swimming

Wrapping up at least a tie for the Wesco North title, the Oak Harbor High School swim and dive team remained undefeated in divisional competition by sweeping a four-team meet at John Vanderzicht Pool Monday, Jan. 23.
Oak Harbor topped Glacier Peak 116-60, Snohomish 126-50 and Monroe 124-41.
The Wildcats are now 8-0 (11-2 overall) in North action with one opponent, Cascade (3-2, 4-6), left. Marysville-Pilchuck is in second place with one loss, a Dec. 6 defeat to Oak Harbor.
Oak Harbor goes to Kamiak to face the Knights and Cascade Thursday, Jan. 26, at 3:15 p.m. Undefeated Kamiak (7-0, 11-0) is in the Wesco South and the results between the Wildcats and the Knights will not count in the North standings.
Oak Harbor won nine of the 12 events Monday, and the Jepsen brothers were involved in six.
Jacob Jepsen captured the 200-meter freestyle (2:05.48) and 100 backstroke (1:06.48), and Josh Jepsen won the 200 individual medley (2:21.9) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.5).
They joined Caley Powers and Kevin Levy to snare the 200 medley relay (1:59.62) and 400 free relay (3:59.18).
Levy added a win in the 50 free (27.07), Powers won the 100 butterfly (1:04.32) and John Kaltenbach took diving (142.35 points).
