Coupeville's Aaron Curtin and Taku Yamauchi lost to Will West and Chris Cirillo from Vashon 6-4, 7-5 in a loser-out quad-district play-in tennis match in Seattle Monday, Oct. 24.

Curtin and Yamauchi placed second in district doubles and needed to win to join teammate and district singles champ Nathan Lamb at quad-district.

Coach Ken Stange said Curtin and Yamauchi "played well but fell just shy of the win."

He added, "I'll miss Taku next year. It was a treat to have a Japanese exchange student playing with us this year. Aaron is only a ninth grader, so I look forward to three more years of growth, improvement and victories."
