Oak Harbor swamps Monroe | Swimming

Monroe put up little resistance as the Oak Harbor swim and dive team drubbed the Bearcats 132-51 at John Vanderzicht Memorial Pool Monday, Oct.10.

The win is the Wildcats sixth straight after opening the season with four losses.

The Wildcats were led by Ciara Hu who won two individual events (diving, 174.1; 100-meter butterfly, 1:11.56). She also joined Karina Concepcion, Olivia Meyer and Angela Johnson to win the 200 medley relay (2:16.84); and Irysh Concepcion, Therese Desquitado and Johnson to win the 400 free relay (4:41.12).

Mollie Briddell (200 free, 2:34.71), Karina Concepcion (50 free, 28.96), Nicole Vogt (400 free, 5:30.09), Meyer (100 breaststroke, 1:25.9) and the 200 free relay team (Karina Concepcion, Desquitado, Meyer and Irysh Concepcion, 2:02.72) were other Oak Harbor winners.

Next up for the Wildcats (6-4) is a home meet with Meadowdale Monday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m.
