Oak Harbor hosts Meadowdale tonight, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. in a tussle for first place in the Western Conference 3A volleyball standings.

The Oak Harbor-Meadowdale matchup lost a little glitter when the two schools were upset earlier this week.

Oak Harbor (4-1, 5-3) slipped up 3-1 at Shorewood (3-3, 4-4) Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Meadowdale (5-1, 7-1) was undefeated, was ranked fourth in the state and hadn't lost a set until being upset by Glacier Peak 3-2 Tuesday.

However, the Mavericks still hold a half-game edge over Oak Harbor (4-1, 5-3) and Lynnwood (4-1, 5-1) in the Wesco standings.

The Wildcats fell to Shorewood 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 19-25.

Oak Harbor coach Kerri Molitor said, "We started off okay, then fell apart. We didn't make the adjustments that we should have to turn it around."

Janine DeGuzman paced the Wildcats with 15 kills and 37 digs. Christina Alexander collected 36 digs and Taylor Nienhuis 31 assists.
