Archbishop Murphy tripped up host Coupeville 3-0 in volleyball action Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Although the 7-1 Wildcats entered the match with a much better record than 3-6 Coupeville, Wolves' coach Toni Crebbin thought her club had a good shot at an upset.

Archbishop Murphy squashed that hope 25-16, 25-17, 25-13.

Crebbin said, "We did not play well...Our passing was weak...causing us to attack more from the back row. Unfortunately, it wasn't very effective."

The Wolves mustered only 12 kills in the match, five by Bessie Walstad. Makenna Martyn, coming back from an injury, added three kills in her first action of the season.

Walstad also had nine digs and Martyn two aces.

Coupeville (2-6, 3-6) entertains Cedarcrest (3-5) Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m.
