The Coupeville soccer team put in a solid performance but fell 4-0 to powerful Archbishop Murphy Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Mickey Clark Field.
The 9-1 Wildcats handed Coupeville (0-8, 1-8) its eighth consecutive Cascade Conference loss but the Wolves gave the Everett school at battle, according to coach Mike Thornton.
Coupeville, Thornton said, played "really strong, really tough" with an "overall great effort" against a team that beat them 9-0 earlier this fall.
He added, "The girls were really excited about the way they played, and it was nice to see smiles on their faces."
Coupeville plays co-conference leader Cedarcrest (9-1) Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. at Mickey Clark Field.
